Nourishing Nuptials: Kathy & Preston Willams are Changemakers

“Holidays and events are not about gifts—they are about being together with family without the distractions of everyday life,” shared newlywed Changemaker Kathy Williams.

On June 14, 2025, Kathy and Preston Williams literally put that thought into action—asking their wedding guests to donate to the Maryland Food Bank instead of gifts—through a wedding-themed virtual food drive.

“We feel proud that even with a small group of guests, our friends and family still exceeded our goal. I had issues with a lack of food in college, and Preston has a long background in helping others, so giving to the food bank came to mind immediately!”

Changemaker, Newlywed Donor

Kathy and Preston find helping other families in need to be an important part of their lives—something they can agree on as a couple. “We feel great. We are so fortunate to have found each other at this point in our lives and appreciate our time together. We know that we have been fortunate, so we feel blessed to pass on what we can,” Kathy added.  end story icon
